Technology
Coresonic's LeoCore technology
is a novel processor architecture optimized for baseband
applications. It enables the customer to combine the advantages
of programmablity and flexibility of a processor with the
advantages of small die size and low power consumption of
a fixed-function ASIC.
Coresonic has presented the first product in the LeoCore
family:
LeoCore-1
Programmable Baseband Processor
SIP Core [more]
- Multimode baseband processor for WLAN 802.11a/b/g, Bluetooth
1+EDR, and WiMAX.
- LeoCore architecture enables full flexibility at low
cost and low power consumption
- Suitable for wireless access cards in laptops, PDAs
and even cell phones
- Flexibility allows short time-to-market, easy design
and maintenance and ultimately low total-cost-of-ownership
Coresonic's LeoCore technology is accompanied by a complete
set of design tools including the Coresonic Developer Studio.

Architecture
Coresonic has developed a completely new type of
instruction set architecture, SIMT (Single Instruction stream
Multiple Tasks). SIMT offers the performance and flexibility
of state-of-the-art VLIW-SIMD solutions but with less control
overhead, lower memory cost, and smaller code size.
Silicon IP
Coresonic offer the technology as SIP (silicon intellectual
property) to enable silicon and system developers to drastically
improve their baseband technology. They are provided with
the advantages of product flexibility and minimized time-to-market
while also cutting development costs.
