Company

Coresonic AB was formed as we recognized the growing market need for a new DSP architecture optimized for baseband applications for the 21st century; highly efficient, fully programmable and scalable but without the large complexity and excessive power consumption of typical VLIW DSP's (technology developed in the 1990's).

We were founded in 2004 based on the results of a research project at Linköping University in Sweden, the leading computer science center in Northern Europe. The founders include Professor Dake Liu, Dr Eric Tell, Dr Anders Nilsson and Professor Christer Svensson. In 2009, Johan Lodenius, a wireless and semiconductor industry veteran with significant management and international marketing experience, joined to complete the team that bring decades of experience from research, development and marketing of wireless semiconductors and
silicon IP.

Our patented architecture offers a solution to the key issues that wireless baseband developers are facing. This is further emphasized as new standards such as LTE and combinations of multiple standard modes drive complexities more than ever before. By using our DSP, customers can improve their products in several ways; by lowering their die costs, by reducing the development cycle time and by being able to re-use the same die and DSP core for multiple different products using different firmware loads. In addition to the lower cost, the resulting designs are also significantly more power efficient than traditional VLIW DSP based architectures.

We provide our technology as licenses for DSP cores and toolkits tailored for specific customer projects or as a complete SIMT™ architecture license.
Multiple licenses have been sold world-wide and are currently in use for a wide range of projects ranging from wireless communications like LTE and WLAN to broadcasting DVB/DRB and cable modems.
